Winter Skincare Tips

Winter is nearly here - and for a lot of the country, winter weather has definitely arrived! 

So, how do you keep your skin healthy during the winter months?

Here are a few tips:

1) Wash your face with lukewarm water instead of super hot.  While hot water feels great in the cold months, it can also strip oils from your skin. 

2) Hydrate your skin!  Drink water - hot water with lemon can be a good choice on a cold afternoon or evening.  Also, using a hydration product such as Rodan+Fields Hydration Serum can help hydrate your skin from the outside.  A humidifier can also help your skin feel more hydrated in the winter months as well. 

3) Moisturize your face, lips, and body.  Rodan+Fields Daily Body Moisturizer is a great body moisturizer, and Rodan+Fields Lip Shield works to moisturize your lips in addition to providing SPF protection!  One of my favorite products for my lips during the winter is the Lip Renewing Serum, and I also use it on my kids when they get the chapped circle around their lips from licking dry lips!!!  Finally, a great overnight moisturizer is the Overnight Restorative Cream that prevents moisture loss with the bonus of anti-aging benefits! 

4) Exfoliate your skin to rid it of dead skin cells - this not only helps your skin look more radiant, but it allows the products you use to be absorbed more effectively!  Rodan+Fields Microdermabrasion Paste is a great face and body exfoliator - it is a sugar and salt scrub that is oil-free and leaves your skin feeling super smooth!

5) SPF yourself!  Don't forget to use SPF during the winter months - the winter sun can be just as harsh as the summer sun - especially when reflected off of snow!  My favorite winter sunscreens are the Soothe Mineral Sunscreen for my face and Rodan+Fields Body Sunscreen for my body!
